Mark^Up Tools Brings New Technologies for Document Markup to Technical and Non-Technical Users

Personal Marking Layers for Technical Drawing Review and Redline,
Photo, Map Marking with Embedded Images for Professionals, Hobbyists,
Effortless Markup for Online Education Student Papers.

Houston, Texas - March 20, 2010 -- IbisScope Software announced the availability of Mark^Up Tools, a dedicated electronic document markup program built using the latest Microsoft technologies and designed with features lacking in even expensive CAD redline software. Technical companies gain productivity using Mark^Up Tools' personal marking layers, which can be organized by task groups and individually password protected. In addition, vector graphics allow extreme zooming for detail work, and reviewers' comments are saved and automatically listed in a separate report. For non-technical users, Mark^Up Tools is a low cost, effective way to add marks to any electronic document, photo, map or web page without the expense and training associated with complex graphics programs.

Utilizing the Microsoft XPS Document Writer print-to-file printer in Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 operating systems, users can create high quality, vector-imaged copies of any printable electronic document. These copies in XPS (.xps) format can then be imported into Mark^Up Tools to add text, images,white-out, shading, highlighting and other graphics. Results can be saved in PDF, XPS (XML Paper Specification), JPEG format or the Mark^Up Tools native format XPSR.

Because Mark^Up Tools uses a layer architecture scheme allowing each user to manage their own markup, technical review teams gain a major productivity advantage with the ability to import layers from other team members' Mark^Up Tools files. This means the time-consuming task of manually transcribing individual reviewers' marks for consolidation onto the (master) return document will no longer be necessary. Another productivity gain is the Comments Report, a list of all comments contained in a Mark^Up Tools file including the name of the originator and date. The Comments Report can be printed or if desired the list of comments can be exported in CSV format for import into a tracking spreadsheet or database.

See example screenshots for technical users at www.MarkUpTools.com/design-review-markup.

Non-technical users benefit from Mark^Up Tools' ease of use and affordability. Advertisers can mark photos with decorative text, watermarks or descriptive instruction, and mark maps with embedded images to enhance directions. Instructors in online education can use free-form line work and highlighting in multiple colors to mark student papers and email results. Students giving presentations can copy and mark web pages. Completing online forms is now possible without the hassle of printing a hard copy, marking it by hand and scanning, only to end up with an unreadable result.

For both technical and non-technical, professional and casual, Mark^Up Tools is a utility program with one purpose: to mark electronic documents. With features and benefits for every computer user, office and home, Mark^Up Tools is a new star in the category of software for annotation and markup.
